Τις υποψηφιότητες των φετινών βραβείων Όσκαρ παρουσίασαν σε ζωντανή σύνδεση από το Λος Άντζελες οι Riz Ahmed και Allison Williams.

To Top Gun: Maverick είναι υποψήφιο για Καλύτερη Ταινία στα φετινά Όσκαρ, σε ένα σημάδι ότι το Χόλιγουντ επιτέλους ακούει το κοινό και τιμά τις επιτυχίες του box office αντί των ιδιαίτερων καλλιτεχνικών έργων.

Η ταινία με πρωταγωνιστή τον Τομ Κρουζ είναι υποψήφια μαζί με τις ταινίες Elvis, Avatar: The Way of Water, All Quiet on the Western Front και The Fabelmans.

Αν και έχασε την υποψηφιότητα για τον καλύτερο ηθοποιό, ο Τομ Κρουζ θα διεκδικήσει φέτος το αγαλματίδιο ως παραγωγός της ταινίας.

Τα Everything Everywhere All at Once και The Banshees of Inisherin είναι επίσης υποψήφια για Καλύτερη Ταινία. Οι δύο ταινίες σάρωσαν στις υπόλοιπες κατηγορίες.

Η μάχη για το Οσκαρ Α' Γυναικείου Ρόλου θα είναι σκληρή ανάμεσα στην Κέιτ Μπλάνσετ στην ταινία Tar και τη Μισέλ Γιογκ, η οποία κέρδισε το βραβείο στις Χρυσές Σφαίρες για την ερμηνεία της στην ταινία Everything Everywhere All at Once.

H 95η τελετή απονομής των Όσκαρ 2023 θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Κυριακή 12 Μαρτίου, στο Dolby Theatre στο Χόλιγουντ με παρουσιαστή τον Τζίμι Κίμελ και θα μεταδοθεί ζωντανά από το ABC.
